About Alberto Landgraf
Alberto Landgraf is one of the most influential chefs in Latin America, and his Michelin-starred restaurant, Oteque, in Rio de Janeiro, frequently ranks in the World’s 50 Best. Brazilian-born, half-German, half-Japanese, he switched from Physics to food in his early twenties and learned his trade under culinary luminaries including Tom Aikens and Gordon Ramsay, before returning to Brazil. He opened his first restaurant, Epice, in Sâo Paulo in 2011, and launched Oteque in 2018. In March 2026, Chef Landgraf published his debut monograph, Oteque: Ideas, Principles, Recipes, Stories and Connections

The Global Chef Series is an exclusive culinary program welcoming internationally acclaimed chefs for highly limited collaborations at Joni Restaurant. Each residency pairs a celebrated guest chef with Park Hyatt Executive Chef Jonathan Williams to craft immersive, multi-course tasting menus bringing the distinct flavours and signature dishes of the chef’s home city to Toronto for a brief, moment in time. Each residency will be complemented by a curated selection of fine wines and spirits, selected to enhance and elevate each menu.
