Kazdoura is a Toronto based music group that presents Arabic fusion. The project was founded by leen, a singer from Syria and Johnny multi-instrumentalist (saxophonist and guitarist) in the summer of 2020. Johnny was very enthusiastic to learn and play songs from his Arabic background.Together they fused old classical Arabic songs with many musical influences such as blues, funk and jazz and presented them in a reinvented and modern style.
Their inspiration comes from the struggles and destruction in the middle east, where they come from. To them kazdoura is a short nostalgic trip to their roots and past.
Currently, Kazdoura is working on their debut EP set to be released in May 2022.
